The following animals were lost or found in the Gaston County area.  These pets are not being held at Animal Control, rather they are being kept by the person or persons who found them.   If you have any information on any of the pets listed below, please contact using the number(s) provided.  If you have lost or found a pet and would like to post information concerning it online, email webmaster@co.gaston.nc.us and include the pet's breed, gender, color and characteristic markings, area lost/found, pet name, contact information, and any other pertinent information concerning the loss.  You may include a photo of the pet in either JPG, PNG or GIF format.
Note: The date listed beside the animal is the date the information was posted and does not necessarily reflect the date the animal was actually lost or found.  If you lost your pet and it was not wearing identification, you must come to the shelter to see if it is there. Animal Control holds animals with no identification for 3 business days. Business hours are Mon-Fri 11am-5pm, and the first Saturday of each month 10am-2pm.

Silky Terrier (8/30/10)
Age: 6 years
Color: Black and tan
Sie: 8 lbs.
Last seen in Stanley Lucia Rd. area of Mt. Holly/Stanley. Dog was not wearing a collar when lost. REWARD for safe return.

Gender: Female
Color: Black & white
Age: 9 months
Size: 12 pounds
Dog is named Sasha. Last seen 8/27/10 in the Mt. Holly area.

Calico Kitten (8/27/10)
Gender: Female
Color: Calico (white with brown and black markings), green eyes
Age: 5 months
Size: 3 pounds
Last seen on Monday morning, 8/23/10 in the area of Mountain Manor, Kings Mountain, Gaston County. She recently lost her collar with tag on it, so she isn’t wearing one.   She is scheduled to be spayed on 9/3/10.

Color: Brown, white patch on chest and white on front paws.
Dog is named Summer.

Gender: Female
Color: White and reddish brown in color, blue eyes.
Dog is named Maui.
Both dogs have missing from missing from Chadwick Court (BCHS) in Bessemer City since August 18.

Color: Tan with white around nose between eyes
Dog has a mole on left side of face. She is named Zenia.

Gender: Female
Color: Brindle with an hour-glass shape white patch on nose, white patch on chest and white on front paws.
Lost around Ware Ave. in Gastonia. Dog is named Xena (pronounced Zena).

Gender: Female
Color: Salt and pepper; red clay on behind
Lost in area of Gaston Webbs Chapel Rd., Lincolnton. Dog is named Peaches.

Domestic Short Hair Cat (8/19/10)
Gender: Female (spayed)
Color: Black, orange and white
Age: 5+/-
Calico cat named Callie. Lost at Mill Creek Apartments on Robinwood Rd, near Union Rd. Callie is mainly black and orange with some white, and looks like she is wearing a black mask.

Lost dog off Cloninger Road in Dallas.  Very friendly, a little timid.

Long Haired Chihuahua (8/18/10)
Gender: Male
Color: Tan & beige
Age: 14 years
Dog is named Gizmo. Missing since July 26 in the downtown Belmont area behind Summer Bound Tanning Salon. He has lost most of the hair on his sides and tummy and has a protruding hernia near his rear end.

Pit Bull/American Bull Dog Mix (8/9/10)
Color: White with brown patches
Size: 59 lbs.
Dog is named Bandit. Wearing a faded blue collar and possibly dragging a leash behind. Missing from the Garrison Blvd. and Overhill Rd. area of Gastonia.  REWARD for safe return!

Age: 3 years
Dog is named Chase. He was wearing a thick black collar with no tags when lost in the Black Snake area of Stanley.

Age: 1 1/2 years
Missing since 8-01-2010 from S. New Hope Rd. Her name is Sasha. She has 2 different colored eyes - 1 blue eye and 1 brown eye.

Gender: Female (spayed)
Color: Cream
Size: 55 lbs.
Dog is named Sophie. She looks looks like a lean shepherd, has very large, erect ears, is microchiped and has a tattoo. She has been missing since 7/14/10.

Color: Black w/ small white patch on chest
Dog was wearing a red and white collar when lost in the High Shoals Rd./Long Shoals Rd. area.
Goes by the name of Yogi.

German Shepherd (8/1/10)
Gender: Male (neutered)
Color: Black and tan
Age: 3 years
Dog is named Rip. He has a microchip but no collar. He's missing hair around his backside and looks bow-legged from the back. Missing since 7/30/10 from Wood Street in Mount Holly.

Size: Medium and a bit overweight (about 55 lbs)
Age: Approx. 4-5 years
Dog was wearing a yellow collar when found in Mt Holly.  She knows sit and loves to play fetch.

Color: White with black spots, black ears, and a larger black spot on tail
Age: Older
Found in Su-San Farms off Kendrick Road in Gastonia on Saturday morning 7/31. Appears to be in ill health and somewhat crippled – has difficulty walking, lying down and getting up.  Not sure that she hears, or sees too well.
