McLurd House - Moving the Outbuilding

The McLurd house stood by the railroad in Stanley. It was demolished in 2007 and a home was needed for the log outbuilding. The team dismantling the log structure is from Historic Brattonsville with help from January Porter and Alan May of the Gaston County Historic Preservation Commission. The structure will be reassembled in the county park at the Heritage Village. This village is made up of structures that were going to be lost. It helps tell the story of the 1890's cotton farmer to go along with the very popular Cotton Ginning Days that is held in the park in October each year.
