Current Job Openings Gaston County is currently recruiting for the positions listed. All candidates must be able to perform the essential job duties as identified and meet minimum qualification requirements for the position as advertised. Proof of education is no longer required with every application unless specified as a part of the minimum qualifications for a position; however, proof of education will be required if employment is offered. If a position requires a specific license or certification (EMT, Public Health Nurse, etc.) a copy of this document will be required with the application. Qualified applicants must complete an official employment application available in the Gaston County Personnel Department, 128 W. Main Ave., Gastonia, N.C. 704-866-3005 or by download from the Internet. Gaston County prohibits the employment of relatives by blood or marriage in the same department if one is supervised by the other and hires only United States citizens and aliens authorized to work in the United States. Applicants who are employed are allowed a maximum of three (3) workdays from the date of employment to provide documentation or application for documentation demonstrating U.S. citizenship or authorized alien worker status. All male applicants born in 1960 or after, and who are between the ages of 18 and 25, are required to furnish proof of registration with the Selective Service System within 30 days after the date of employment. Gaston County Job Application NOTICE: In addition to the Gaston County application, all applicants interested in applying for positions with the Gaston County Police Department, Telecommunications and Animal Control must complete 2 additional forms. These forms may be accessed by using the link below. One of these forms requires that the signature be notarized. Notary services are provided at the Gaston County Human Resources Department free of charge. Signatures are required in the presence of a notary. Typing tests will be administered in the Human Resources Office Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm. Applicants can also go to any office of the North Carolina Employment Security Commission to take the test.
