TITLE: SOCIAL WORKER II/Bilingual-Spanish

HIRING RANGE: $16.78-$17.62 per hour (Non-exempt-eligible for overtime)

(Plus 5% for translation services)

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full Time (30 hours per week)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (NOTE: The duties listed below are not inclusive of all of the duties that may be assigned to the position but are considered as essential to the nature of the position).

* Provides educational counseling and case management services to pregnant women.

* Provides pregnancy counseling.

* Refers clients to other health related programs both within the Health Department and through other public and private sources.

* Prepares written narratives to document actions and recommendations for clients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Proof of education is no longer required at the time of application, unless specified as part of the minimum requirements; however, proof of education will be required if employment is offered.

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work; OR a four year degree in a human service field and one year of related experience in the area of case management, assessment and referral, supportive counseling, intervention, psycho-social therapy or treatment planning preferably with maternity patients; OR graduation from a four year college or university and two years of experience in a related area; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. Candidates must be bilingual with the ability to perform written or spoken tasks in English and Spanish. The candidate selected must undergo and pass a drug screening test and a criminal background check prior to employment.
