TITLE: PHYSICIAN (Position #HL0206)
LOCATION: Gaston County Health Department
SALARY: Negotiable
(Exempt - Not eligible for overtime)
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full Time
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
(Note: The duties listed below are not all of the
duties that may be assigned to the position but are those that have been
determined to be essential for an employee to perform).

Serves
as physician to provide medical services to clinical patients at the Gaston
County Health Department; performs examinations in Child Health Clinic.

Provides
medical consultation for mid-level providers, public health nurses and
physicians.
·
Approves
and writes medical protocols for mid-level providers and public health nurses
in various clinics.
·
Serves
as preceptor and medical backup for nurse practitioners and physician
assistants by arranging and participating in continuing medical education
programs for the clinical staff.
Serves as liaison with the lay
community and those involved in voluntary health organizations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Proof
of education no longer required at time of application, but will be required if
employment is offered unless specified as part of the minimum qualifications
for a position.
Graduation from an accredited college
or university school of medicine and completion of an US accredited pediatric residency
training program. All candidates must be
currently licensed to practice medicine in the State of North Carolina. A copy of license must be included with
the application. The candidate selected must undergo and pass a
drug screening test prior to employment.
