$37,379-$39,249 annually-Social Worker III
(Exempt - Not eligible for Overtime)
$16.78-$17.62 per hour-Social Worker II
(Non-Exempt-Eligible for overtime)
Protective service workers receive an
additional 5% incentive pay)
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full Time
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (The duties listed
below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are identified as
those that are essential for an employee to perform.)

Investigates
accepted child protective services reports
·
Assesses
risk of harm to children and determines if children are abused, neglected or
dependant.
·
Petitions
the court for removal of children from the home if at risk of harm and provides
information to the court on the circumstances of the child.

Provides
services to children found to be abused, neglected or dependent.
·
Works
with parents and community organizations to provide for the provision of
services to reduce the risk of harm to children.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Proof
of education is no longer required at time of application unless specified as
part of the minimum qualifications; however, proof of education will be required
if employment is offered.
Requires a Masters’ Degree in Social Work from
an accredited school of social work; or a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from
an accredited school of social work with a Child Welfare Collaborative (CPS
positions only); or a Bachelor’s Degree
in Social Work and one year of experience in the area of case management,
assessment and referral, supportive
counseling, intervention, psycho-social therapy or treatment planning; or a four year degree in a human service
field with at least 25 semester hours of
approved coursework and two years of experience in a related area; or a four
year degree and three years of related experience. A
copy of a transcript must be included with the application. The applicant selected must undergo a criminal
background check and pass a drug screening test prior to employment
