HIRING RANGE:                 $37,379-$39,249 annually-Social Worker III

                                                   (Exempt - Not eligible for Overtime)

 $16.78-$17.62 per hour-Social Worker II

        (Non-Exempt-Eligible for overtime)

                                                 Protective service workers receive an additional 5% incentive pay)

 

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full Time

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are identified as those that are essential for an employee to perform.)

·         Investigates accepted child protective services reports

·         Assesses risk of harm to children and determines if children are abused, neglected or dependant.

·         Petitions the court for removal of children from the home if at risk of harm and provides information to the court on the circumstances of the child.

·         Provides services to children found to be abused, neglected or dependent.

·         Works with parents and community organizations to provide for the provision of services to reduce the risk of harm to children.

    

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Proof of education is no longer required at time of application unless specified as part of the minimum qualifications; however, proof of education will be required if employment is offered.

Requires a Masters’ Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work; or a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work with a Child Welfare Collaborative (CPS positions only);  or a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and one year of experience in the area of case management, assessment and referral,  supportive counseling, intervention, psycho-social therapy or treatment planning;  or a four year degree in a human service field with at  least 25 semester hours of approved coursework and two years of experience in a related area; or a four year degree and three years of related experience. A copy of a transcript must be included with the application. The applicant selected must undergo a criminal background check and pass a drug screening test prior to employment
