HIRING RANGE:                 $37,379-$39,249 annually Social Worker III/Exempt- Not eligible for overtime)

$16.78-$17.62 per hour/Social Worker II/Non exempt-eligible for overtime)

                             (Protective service workers receive an additional 5% incentive pay)

   

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full Time

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are identified as those that are essential for an employee to perform.)

·        Evaluates reports of abuse, neglect or exploitation of disabled adults.

·        Coordinates with medical providers, physicians, home health agencies, physical therapists and others as needed.

·        Works with DSS Attorneys to develop Emergency Orders, Adult Protective Services Orders and Guardianship Petitions.

·        Initiates new guardianship cases.

·        Develops protection plan and coordinates community services.

·        Verifies effectiveness of services provided.

·        Completes required client and program specific documentation.

·        Rotates after-hours coverage to handle holiday, weekend and evening calls.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Proof of education is no longer required at the time of the application unless specified as part of the minimum qualifications; however, proof of education is required if employment is offered.

Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work; OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work from an accredited college or university with a Child Welfare Collaborative (CPS positions only); OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and one year of experience in the area of case management, assessment and referral, supportive counseling, intervention, psycho-social therapy or treatment planning; OR a four year degree in a human service field  with at least 25 semester hours of approved coursework and two years of experience in a related area; OR a four year degree and three years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. A copy of a transcript must be included with the application for this position. The applicant selected must undergo a criminal background check and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.
