The Federal Emergency Management Agency, (FEMA) in cooperation with the State Of North Carolina, has compiled new Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps (DFIRMs) for Gaston County which became effective on September 28, 2007. These new Gaston County DFIRMS are available for review at ncfloodmaps.com. Both sites show the new DFIRMs, however the County DFIRM site also displays property parcels allowing individuals to determine if their property falls with in a designated flood hazard area. In addition hard copy maps showing the new DFIRM information may be view at the Gaston County Administration Building, Room 217, located at 128 West Main Avenue, Gastonia, NC, during normal business hours. For questions regarding the DFIRMs please send an E-Mail to FloodInfo@co.gaston.nc.us or call Patrick Armstrong at 704-866-3976.
