New Service Offered to Gaston County Veterans

Beginning April 1, 2007 Gaston County Veterans will have a new transportation service to the Veteran's Administration Medical Center (VMAC) in Salisbury, NC. Gaston County Commissioners approved funding that would Allow ACCESS Central Transportation to make trips to the VMAC every Tuesday and Thursday. The Gaston County Veterans Services Department worked with both the VMAC and ACCESS to develop a schedule that would assist veterans with this growing need.

All Gaston County veterans are eligible for this free service. Veterans wishing to use the service should make appointments at the VMAC for Tuesday or Thursday and contact ACCESS at 704-866-3206 five days before the appointment to schedule pick up.
