GEMS is recruiting for top quality paramedics who exhibit integrity, professionalism, dedication, tenacity, and compassion to join our team. You must be a good "people person", be conscientious in your work, and be willing to make a difference in the evolution of EMS.
All GEMS personnel are required to be certified as NC paramedics, as well as being certified in ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, NRP, CEVO, DDC, ERT, and HazMat Operations. GEMS will provide this training for new personnel if you do not already have it.
Paramedics with Associate degrees and Baccalaureate degrees are desired and preferred. Personnel are required to be physically able to perform the essential functions of a field paramedic/rescue technician.
Current open positions are posted on the web and updated routinely. Application may be made through the Gaston County Human Resources Department when positions are open. Applications are available from the Human Resources office or via the World Wide Web from the Human Resources Current Job Openings page. A job interest card may be filed with Human Resources when positions are not open for application. Filing a job interest card will ensure that you are notified when the next opening/posting occurs. Job interest cards need to be updated/renewed every three months. Although resumes cannot be taken in leiu of an official application, you may send an emailwith an attached resume to Jeff Waldrep to notify us of your interest in employment with GEMS. After submission of this email you will be notified of its reciept, and you may also be contacted to participate in an interview.
